Moon Poems
The full moon nestled into the western cloudbank
resting from a long night.

—-
Pearl
sinking
in
mornings
blue
ocean
———————————-
Yellow moon
peeking through
slats of horizon clouds
rises to be
a white sphere
in a rainbow halo
…………………………………………………….
full moon
pursuing some wayward planet
through wafting draperies
of the sky
------------------------------------------
O, Moon
Cold.
lonely?
or is that only me?
So still
above this
chaotic Earth.
So bright with
reflected light
like some ancient queen
No longer the guide
of Moors
crossing desert sands
No longer
an absolute divinity
replaced for some by God
Subsumed by
a modern world
that needs no guidance
Lest you count
this cold poet
seeking salvation
